Familiarity

5 Aug

It was nice to see faces of familiar strangers on the way to work today. It gave me a sense of comfort, and it made me smile.

It’s good to back after packing and unpacking, long lines, restless sleeps, sore bottoms and muscles.

Never the less, traveling through nine different cities also has its upside – food, culture, experiences and, of course, people watching!

Here’s a cup of espresso from Gilli, Florence or Firenze as the Italians call it. I don’t know much about Cafè Gilli, but I do know that the espresso was bloody good.

Wishing you a blessed Monday, I hope to share more of my travels soon x

Quirky little sustainable cafe, hidden in an alley, off Carlisle St (Balaclava). Serves delicious organic food (vegetarian/vegan), fair trade coffee, and tea (they’ve got a huge selection of scrumptious tea). Lots of character, very earthy. Love it!

Star Struck

Today I walked around my favorite city like I was a tourist.

I enjoyed the street art and music. Drank coffee and ate lunch at Silo. Gave Shannon Bennett a hug. Had afternoon tea at La Belle Miette. Bought a petit tea cup on special from Rap. I even smiled at strangers.
